Dance of the Scimitar

I have for most of my life been extremely interested in
the martial arts... any and all of them from around the
world. I have a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and have studied
several other styles, not only for the exercise and to
establish a grasp of self-control and defense; but also
because of the philosophy upon which the martial arts of
the Far East, in particlar, are based. Most developed by the
observation of Nature and her attributes: the defense
mechanisms of plants and animals, for example. Even
more impotant, as it relates to my art is balance. I always
strive for balance in every way when I create a piece. The
egg you see here represents all of the pactice that goes into
swordplay or fighting skills of any warrior. Even though
war is horrible, I can still see beauty and balance in the
struggle.
