This piece is actually the first relief carving I
ever tried on any eggshell and it has become
my "Signature Piece" over the years. The
main carving depicts three cranes early in
the morning, stretching, drinking water and
generally getting ready for their day. On
each side of the egg you see cranes in flight,
one with his wings on an upstroke, the other
with his wings on the downstroke.
The egg itself is approximately 8" tall and is
a very unusual shape as most ostrich shells
are as round as a fortune teller's crystal ball.
