Cosmos

One of my favorite scientists and TV
personalities was Carl Sagan, the
astronomer who could make the most
esoteric concepts of the universe perfectly
clear to the common man. Brilliance such
as his often precludes the ability to share
ideas successfully with anyone but his own
colleagues. Furthermore, it never really
mattered what he talked about; he always
made it fascinating. He would certainly not
find the quality of this photo fascinating,
but I carved and dedicated it to him when
he died and his spirit joined those "billions
and billions" of stars and planets in our
endless Universe that he loved so much. It
takes a lot of time and patience to get all
the circles round and uniform on this piece.
